South Coast
JB edge closer to another title
With individual wins hard to come by with nearly 6000 athletes competing across the weekend, it was all about the participation points for the South Coast League.
The Jervis Bay Dolphins have raced their way to a VERY tidy 15-point lead atop of the South Coast table following their 17-point haul at Big Husky! An age-group win to Natalie Mort solidified the Dolphin’s powerhouse performance ahead of Kiama Coasters and the Illawarra Cannons who both picked up 12.5-points, respectively. With only two rounds to go, Kiama and Illawarra stay in the running but have a mountain of work ahead of them.
Collecting 11-points were Shellharbour Mariners who thanks to a win to Luke Jones, hold on by the finest of margins, to their third-place table position.
Eurocoast Nomads continue their record ICL season to date, picking up 9 points to sit comfortably in 5th – well ahead of 6th placed Highlands. Refusing to leave Huskisson empty handed, Highlands picked up 6 points as they move towards the final two rounds at Wollongong and Club Championships.
With a demanding lead at the top of the table, it’s currently the Dolphins title to lose. But, given double points are on offer come Club Championships in late May, we’re not ruling Kiama or Shellharbour out just yet.
Get ready for Round 5 at Wollongong, some clubs will need to be a little more proactive than others before it’s too late.
