Registration for Hills Duathlon closes July 17

Final reminder for any club chasing Interclub Series points that registration for Round 1 at the Hills Duathlon will close next week.

One week remains to sign up for the opening round of the Interclub Series (ICS) set for the 2019 Hills Duathlon at the Sydney International Regatta Centre in Penrith on Sunday, July 21.

Serving as both a Worlds Qualifying Event (WQE), and Round 1 of the ICS for Sydney Triathlon Premier League, League 1 and League 2, both sprint and enticer distances are on offer with the sprint distance providing performance points.

“Don’t miss this event,” said Triathlon NSW operations manager, Chris Cunningham. “It’s the first big event of the new year, season kicked off on the 1st of July — promises to be a big one.

“Don’t miss out, make sure you get registrations in within this week.”

According the Cunningham, early season enrollment numbers are steadily increasing with a positive forecast predicted for the year.

“Memberships are looking good, looking strong,” he claimed. “We finished last year with a real push, good momentum.

“All 59 clubs throughout NSW are in a really good place at the moment,” continued Cunningham, creator of the ICS. “Really strong committees and from the strong committees, good volunteers and strong clubs.

“With those strong clubs come a lot of new members,” he concluded. “Looks to be a very promising year ahead.”
