Tamworth impress at Trial Bay

Our New England League has had to wait a little longer than most before they were able to kick off their competition this season. Trial Bay was their start line and with so little opportunities for clubs to secure points this season, it was vital clubs jumped on the opportunity to do so.

Tamworth’s regular community triathlons have proved vital for competition fitness as they returned home from round 1 with a tidy 17 points – 7.5 points clear at the top of the table, and a nice age-group win to Hayden Miller to top it all off.

Armidale secured 9.5 points – enough to keep them within reach, but with all the work ahead of them at Club Championships.

The Gunnedah K-Bears also made an appearance picking up 3.5 points before they head towards Forster in May. An age-group win to Ruth Pope proving vital for the road ahead.

Given Club Champs offers a sweet reward of double points, there’s plenty of moving room across the New England ranks.
