Grafton Jacarandas join North Coast League

Roxy and Amy decided it was time that Grafton had its own Triathlon Club, and within two weeks their vision has become a reality.

Grafton follows in the footsteps of Byron Bay, Scone and Bowral who have all in recent years ensured that their local communities have Triathlon/Multisport opportunities on their own doorstep. Travelling is no longer required.

Grafton Triathlon Club will start small. Initially the focus will be on group rides and group runs as they aim to mobilise and inspire the Grafton community. There will also be a focus on Interclub. The Grafton Jacarandas will join the Forager North Coast Triathlon League and will identify some goal races on the calendar to attend as a Club, further developing club spirit in the process.

Once the foundations have been built, Grafton Triathlon Club will seek to host races locally as well as starting a junior section of the Club.

Triathlon NSW have helped Roxy and Amy get the club off the ground and will continue to assist as Grafton Triathlon Club sets out in achieving its vision.

It is always exciting to add a new Club as our footprint across the state grows. It also leads us to think about where is next?

We still have many communities across NSW that don’t have their own Triathlon Clubs and we hope to rectify this over the coming years.

If you live in an area that doesn’t have its own Club, please reach out about the possibility of starting one and allow us to talk you through how Triathlon NSW can help you every step of the way.

If you would like to have a discussion about starting a Club in your local area, please contact Chris Cunningham at [email protected]

Will it be the Blue Mountains Triathlon Club next, or maybe Berry Triathlon Club? Balmain Triathlon Club? Bankstown Triathlon Club? Palm Beach Triathlon Club? Kangaroo Valley Triathlon Club?

The possibilities are endless.
