Giants the strongest in Newcastle as they edge closer to Premier title
The Sydney Tri Giants have extended their lead by a formidable 8 points after winning yet another round of the Forager Sydney Triathlon Premier League, at the Sparke Helmore Newcastle City Triathlon last weekend (Round 4) largely thanks to another Biles Age Group victory. They now have a gap of 26.5 points on the second-placed Hills Red Army, despite some Hills athletes making it north for the race.
The Warringah Waves also made it north and grabbed 4.5 points, cementing their 3rd place position on the league ladder thanks to a Quarrell Age Group victory.
Macarthur and the Penrith Panthers added 4.5 and 1.5 points to their respective tallies, but still remain 7th and 8th on the ladder.
Balance Bolt, the Cronulla Sharks, Balmoral Purple Thunder and Concord TC did not make an appearance at Newcastle.
Stay tuned for Big Husky (Round 5) results!
Only a handful of clubs made it north to contest points for Round 4 of the Forager Sydney Triathlon League One, with no major changes to the overall league ladder.
The Coogee Comets & Eastern Suburb Swans tied this round on 2 points each, while the Bondi Brats managed 0.5 points to help maintain their comfortable 3rd place position on the ladder.
All clubs should be eagerly awaiting the results from Big Husky, which might just upset the competition!
There was no action in the Forager Sydney Triathlon League Two.
