Balmoral sign off in style as they hold off Warringah
Balmoral ended their season on yet another high as they were victorious at the last event on the Interclub Calendar for the Sydney North, the Wollongong Triathlon.
Having already wrapped up the title in Orange, Balmoral capped off their season in style as Paul McClarnon and David Grant won their AG’s. Julia Cook and Stephen McManus found themselves on the podium with Laura Van Den Honert, Cherryl Wallace and Ken Raupach turning in top 5 performances.
Kat Marik, Jennifer Paggi, Margie Sneddon and Matthew Farmer also added Performance Points for Balmoral with top 10’s.
An incredible year for Balmoral and deserved Champions winning seven of the ten events on the Sydney North calendar.
Warringah finished second in Wollongong to round out a strong campaign.
Susan Nicholson, Shannon Quartly, Amanda Whiteman and Graeme Beattie all managed podium place finishes for Warringah with Adrian Ciano, Andrew Parkinson, Darren Winterford, Miriam Orr, Laura Higgins and Angus Sedgwick all finishing the season well with top 10 finishes.
One of the most storied clubs of Triathlon in NSW, Warringah will be back next season hungry for silverware.
Northern Suburbs were third at Wollongong with Daniel Rifkin a fine 3rd and Kent McKinney, 6th.
NSTC battled hard all year against their much larger local rivals with their victory at Big Husky the overwhelming highlight.
It will be a whole new challenge for all three Sydney North clubs next season, with Balmoral chasing the Sydney Triathlon Premier League title, Warringah will look to wrap up the Sydney League 1 title and gain promotion to the Premier League and NSTC will be hoping to contend for Sydney League 2 silverware and gain promotion to Sydney League 1.
