Mudgee crowned in Dubbo

And just like that, we have crowned the first of our Forager Interclub League Champions with the Central West League drawing to a close for the 2021/22 Season.

The Mudgee Red Devils have held firm and lifted the trophy following an outstanding season, capped off with a table topping max out performance at Ollie Robbins Reserve over the weekend. The ICL04 Champions put a stop to the reign of the Orange Piranhas, wrapping up their season with a whopping 137 points – 27.5-points clear of the rest of the field. Individual wins to Fuller, Webster, Potter, Dunlop, O’Hare, Gainsford AND Allan ensured Mudgee were well ahead of the pack.

Relegated to Runners Up in ICL04 after back-to-back titles, the Piranhas have been forced to settle with silver after struggling to keep a lid on the Red Devils throughout the season. Harrison, Chevis and Sally Wallace finished their Interclub Season off on a high, each taking out their age-groups, respectively.

Not to be outdone the ever-consistent Bathurst Wallabies notched up vital performance points thanks to wins to Mark Windsor and William Kelly. Finishing off their season at the tail end of the pack, the Wallabies had a season that was strong enough to see them round out this season’s top three and collect bronze.

Dubbo Hippos finished their season off with a bang, collecting 25 points to finish 2nd in the round and fourth overall. Melissa Mertens continued her blistering form with yet another individual win along with club mate, Daryl Healey. As the Hippos creep closer and closer to a podium finish, we look forward to the possibility of them cracking the Big 3 next season.

Triathlon NSW extend their thanks to each & every one of the Central West clubs and their support systems, who ensured yet another successful season of competition in the CW.
