Sydney League 1: Red Army Roars and their Stars Shine

Red Army Roars, Stars Shine 🔴

Round 2 of the Interclub League Sydney League 1 delivered standout individual performances and another commanding display from the Hills Red Army, who marched home with 40 points—the biggest haul of the round—to extend their lead at the top of the ladder.

The Red Army were led brilliantly by David McEwan and James Skuodas, who both collected 10 points, backed by strong scoring from Paul Aalders (9 pts), Greg Baxter (6 pts), and Gavin Tait (5 pts). With five athletes contributing, Hills showed once again that their strength lies in depth across all categories.

The Moore Performance Bats kept their campaign on track thanks to a top-tier performance from Piper Sweeny, who banked 10 points to secure all of the Bats’ score for the round.

The Panthers also had reason to celebrate, with Zacary Green producing a brilliant 10-point effort to keep his club level with Moore Performance in the overall standings.

The Coogee Comets added 7 points, courtesy of a sharp performance from Mark Garcia, while Miguel Gabriel raced strongly but finished outside the points this round.
