Hunter League Ladder Tightens: Nitros Control the Top, Maddoggers Close In

The Hunter Interclub League returned to action last weekend for Round 6 at the Lake Macquarie Triathlon, hosted by H Events. Conditions were classic early autumn on the coast – wet, humid, and heavy, creating a challenging environment for athletes across all disciplines.

Despite the weather, Round 6 delivered big performances, gritty racing, and important shifts on the league ladder as the 2025/26 season approaches its final stages.

League Standings After Round 6

  1. Newcastle Nitros – 835 points
  2. Maitland Magic – 684 points
  3. Tomaree Tridents – 539 points
  4. Central Coast Maddoggers – 524 points
  5. Forster Breakers – 257 points
  6. Singleton Swoopers – 256 points
  7. Lion Island Lions – 62 points

The Newcastle Nitros are still the clear front‑runners. Their consistency is unmatched with another 150‑point haul keeping them well in control. Maitland Magic had one of their strongest rounds of the season. Matching the Nitros at Lake Mac keeps them firmly in second with a healthy gap back to third.

After exploding at CC26 with 282 points, the Tomaree Tridents they returned to a modest 44 points at Lake Mac. They remain third but the margin has tightened to just 15 points from CCTRI.
