Hume Interclub League: Crowds, Energy, and Australia Day Spirit Light Up the MMJ Aquathon
Australia Day delivered its trademark sunshine, excitement, and community spirit as Round 3 of the Hume Interclub League took centre stage at the iconic MMJ Aquathon in Wollongong. With large crowds lining the harbour foreshore, the atmosphere was electric from the get go to the final finisher.
The Aquathon’s thrilling swim‑run format produced tight racing, bold moves, and plenty of drama. Close finishes were constant, and the friendly yet fierce club rivalry brought colour and excitement to every moment.
The event captured everything great about multisport on Australia Day—community, competition, and pure summer energy.
League Ladder
After Round 3, the Yass Valley Galahs continue to soar at the top of the ladder, strengthened by key point‑scoring performances at the Aquathon, while the Goulburn Rambos remain in striking distance as the league moves toward its final rounds:

Round 3 MVP Performances
The Australia Day Aquathon produced several standout efforts, with three athletes rising above the pack to claim Round 3 MVP honours:
⭐ Sarah Watson (Yass Valley Triathlon Club) – 6 points
A commanding display from Sarah Watson, whose strong swim and composed run secured the highest performance score of the round. Her effort was instrumental in extending the Galahs’ lead atop the league ladder.
⭐ Mikaela Rose (Goulburn Triathlon Club) – 4 points
Mikaela delivered another consistent and high-quality race, reinforcing her status as one of the league’s most reliable performers. Her 4-point haul helped keep the Rambos firmly in second place overall.
⭐ Mark Stutchbury (Goulburn Triathlon Club) – 3 points
A powerful effort from Mark saw him claim the top male performance score of the day. His strong racing added valuable points to Goulburn’s growing season tally.
