Fast Currents, Fast Racing: Batemans Bay Triathlon Turns On the Speed for Round 2 of the South Coast Triathlon League
The South Coast Triathlon League lit up the coast last weekend as athletes descended on Tomakin for Round 2 at Triathlon Batemans Bay, hosted by Elite Energy. With ideal racing conditions, supportive crowds, and a fast course, competitors were treated to one of the quickest races on the calendar.
A current-assisted swim fired athletes into the race with speed, while the pancake‑flat bike and run rewarded rhythm, pacing, and smart execution.
League Ladder – After Round 2
- Illawarra Cannons – 241 points
- Eurocoast Nomads – 221 points
- Jervis Bay Dolphins – 181 points
- Kiama Coasters – 179 points
The league has become extremely tight, with no club breaking away. Eurocoast and Jervis Bay were the big winners of the weekend with Illawarra maintaining the overall lead through consistency.
This sets up a thrilling lead‑up to Round 3 at the NSW Triathlon Club Championships, where scoring could dramatically reshape the ladder all over again.
