Sun, Surf and Heart: Round 4 of the Sydney Premier League Celebrates the Richie Walker Aquathlon
Gunnamatta Bay delivered a stunning morning as the Sydney Premier League gathered for Round 4 at the much‑loved Richie Walker Aquathlon, hosted by Cronulla Triathlon Club. More than just a race, this annual event raises funds for the Heart Foundation in honour of cherished club member Richie Walker, whose legacy of community, kindness and athletic spirit continues to inspire athletes year after year.
The bay sparkled under perfect sunny conditions, giving athletes an ideal setting for the opening swim leg.
From the swim, athletes moved onto the event’s iconic multi‑terrain cross‑country run course; a gritty and varied challenge that winds across sand, grass, trail and undulating parkland. Its changing surfaces and short climbs tested strength, rhythm and resilience, creating an exciting spectacle and rewarding well‑rounded athletes.
