Hunter Interclub League – Round 1 Wrap: Nitros Ignite the Season
The 2025 Hunter Interclub League exploded into action with a high-energy opening round, and it was the Newcastle Nitros who lit the fuse. Backed by outstanding participation and sharp racing across the board, the Nitros stormed to the top of the ladder with a dominant 150 points, immediately stamping themselves as the early front-runners.
Chasing hard in second are the Maitland Magic, whose athletes produced a string of impressive performances to bank 111 points. They remain firmly in the mix, with plenty of belief that they can chase down the Nitros as the season unfolds.
Sitting third are the Tomaree Tridents, who opened their account with 65 points, followed by the Central Coast Maddoggers on 53 points—both clubs producing committed early-season racing. Swoopers took home 34 points.
