Hunter ICL04 Preview

The nine clubs of the Greater Hunter region are all set to battle once again to decide who will be the Hunter Interclub Champion for ICL04.

It gets underway this weekend at the Maitland Triathlon, the first of four rounds. Singleton Triathlon Club host Round 2 in March, whilst the Tomaree Triathlon Club host Round 3 in April.

Club Champs in Forster in late May is the final round.

The Maitland Magic were unstoppable last year and will have high hopes of staying on top in the region this season.

The biggest challenge for Maitland is likely to come from one of Central Coast, Newcastle or Tomaree.

Keep an eye out for the Port Macquarie Pelicans however as they are notorious for their Club Champs performances.

The Forster Breakers, Scone Stormers, Singleton Swoopers and the Lake Mac Triple Threats will likely fight it out for placings in the middle of the ladder.

Triathlon NSW predictions

The Central Coast Maddoggers to take out ICL04 for the Hunter just ahead of the Maitland Magic. Newcastle Nitros just a touch further back in 3rd, with the Tomaree Tridents in 4th.  Singleton to have a wonderful season to take 5th, with Port Mac in 6th. Scone and Forster have their moments but finish 7th and 8th respectively with Lake Mac rounding out the group in 9th.
