New Season, New Battles: Sydney Premier and League 1 Dives off this weekend
The 2025/26 Interclub League Triathlon Series kicks off this weekend at IRONMAN Western Sydney 70.3 with all eyes on both Premier League and Sydney League 1. Performance and Participation points across the 70.3 and Sprint distances will be up for grabs, and this year’s promotion and relegation shake-ups add an extra layer of intensity.
Premier League – The Arrival of Rozelle Pulse, Macarthur & Balance
After outstanding performances last season, Rozelle Pulse, Macarthur Triathlon Club, and Balance Bolt have earned promotion to the Premier League. All three were in the top three of Sydney League 1, and now they’ll test themselves against the established heavyweights: the Cronulla Sharks, Warringah Waves, Balmoral Purple Thunder, Manly Vipers, Concord, STG Giants, Brighton Polar Bears, Macarthur, Balance Bolt, and Rozelle Pulse.
There’s a buzz in the air at those clubs. Members are excited to face more challenging competition, to see their names on bigger leaderboards, and to prove that their ascent was well earned. The jump to Premier League isn’t just about tougher racing — it’s about stepping into a new chapter of club history.
Sydney League 1 – The Fight Continues for Moore, Hills & Panthers
On the flip side, it’s been a tougher off-season for Moore Performance, Hills Red Army, and Panthers Triathlon Club. These clubs were relegated after being in the Premier League, and are now preparing for a season in Sydney League 1.
While there’s disappointment, there’s also determination. These clubs know the importance of depth, consistency, and showing up — not just for individuals, but for all members. Relegation doesn’t mean failure; it means they’ll be fighting with everything they’ve got to earn a quick return to the top flight.
What to Expect Round 1 at IRONMAN Western Sydney 70.3
- Performance Points will be critical — strength at the front will set the tone.
- Participation Points could make a match winner, especially for clubs rebuilding.
- Club Pride: More than ever, every athlete, from those doing their first Sprint to veterans going for 70.3, will have the chance to contribute to their club’s standing.
Looking Ahead
With Rozelle Pulse, Macarthur, and Balance stepping up, and Moore Performance, Hills Red Army, and Panthers looking to bounce back, this opening round is more than just a race — it’s a statement. Who will seize the momentum? Who will respond with resilience?
As the season unfolds, every start line will matter. Round 1 at IRONMAN Western Sydney 70.3 is the first chance for all clubs to show their mettle and stake an early claim in the standings.
