All Bite, No Mercy: Cronulla Dominate the Premier League Finale
The Sydney Premier League Interclub League came to a thrilling conclusion last weekend at the Wollongong Triathlon Festival, proudly hosted by Elite Energy, with club rivalries on full display and final ladder positions still up for grabs.
Final Ladder – Sydney Triathlon Premier League
- Cronulla Sharks – 971 points
- Warringah Waves – 708 points
- Balmoral Purple Thunder – 682 points
- Concord TC – 650 points
- STG – 532 points
- Brighton Polar Bears – 526 points
- Pulse Performance – 436 points
- Macarthur – 278 points
- Manly Vipers Tri Club – 229 points
- Balance Bolt – 200 points.
While Cronulla entered the final round as firm title favourites, plenty was still at stake across the ladder.
Warringah Waves held off Balmoral to secure second place overall, adding 71 points in the final round. Their consistency across the season, particularly earlier rounds, proved crucial.
Balmoral Purple Thunder pushed hard with 72 points, finishing just 26 points behind Warringah. A statement 150‑point performance in Round 6 kept them firmly in podium contention right to the end.
Concord TC closed out the season with 97 points, consolidating fourth place and finishing strongly after steady gains across the final two rounds.
Sydney Giants and Brighton Polar Bears finished in a near dead‑heat, separated by just six points overall, highlighting how critical final‑round participation proved across the league.
Rozelle Pulse and Macarthur both posted improved final‑round scores, while Balance Bolt and Manly Vipers rounded out the ladder after challenging seasons marked by fluctuating attendance.

Outstanding individual performances also shaped the final round, with the following athletes earning maximum MVP points (10):

The Wollongong Triathlon Festival once again provided the perfect stage for a Sydney Premier League finale, showcasing the depth, competitiveness and community spirit of metropolitan triathlon clubs.
